About Kelli
New Jersey’s live-looping one-woman-band Kelli Bruno is folk-pop bourbon for the soul. Her breathtaking vocals, thoughtfully crafted accompaniment, and engaging (often humorous) stage presence have been exciting audiences for more than a decade. Drawing inspiration from Joni Mitchell and Ingrid Michaelson, Kelli's original music is grounded in folk with flares of indie-pop melodies, soaring strings, and campfire percussion. If her music was a season, it would most definitely be fall. Catching her live is a musical journey through piano, guitar, or ukulele, all while Kelli uses both feet for percussion and harnesses the magic of the loop pedal to awe audiences with her signature arrangements.
Kelli lives in Central New Jersey and performs around the tristate area while teaching at Lakehouse Music Academy in Asbury Park. She previously spent nine years working for the nonprofit Musicians On Call (MOC), the nation's leading provider of live music in hospitals. Through volunteering regularly with MOC she has witnessed time and again the transformative power of music.
As a professional solo artist, Kelli has become a regular at venues like The Stone Pony, Crossroads, Rockwood Music Hall and other venues across NYC and NJ. Her cover repertoire spans the decades from the American Songbook to soul, classic rock, R&B, and pop. In 2024 Kelli released her summer bop Love & Games, and she has previously released two full-length albums Company (2022) and Nomahegan (2018) which you can find on all streaming services, CD, and vinyl.
When she's not performing as Kelli Bruno, you might catch her on stage with one of NJ's premiere cover bands, Mushmouth, going on hikes with her wife and dog, watching the New York Rangers, or enjoying a craft beer with friends.
